Poetry, Science, Health Care and Social Justice

The Poetry of Science, merges art and science to amplify the voices and experiences of underrepresented communities in scientific research. The initiative, led by Joshua Sariñana, PhD, and Linsey Jayne, MFA, pairs local poets of color with scientists of color, fostering a creative dialogue that translates complex scientific work into evocative poetry. In collaboration with The Peoples' heART, led by Dr. Daniel Chonde, the project extends into healthcare spaces, using art to address health equity and representation in medical institutions like Massachusetts General Hospital. Through this fusion of artistic and scientific narratives, The Poetry of Science seeks to challenge systemic disparities while celebrating the contributions of marginalized voices in both fields.
