Exhibition: Latin American Fotografía 6 Awards

Joshua Sariñana’s Image of Structure was selected for the prestigious Latin American Fotografía awards, a juried competition celebrating outstanding photography and illustration from or focused on Latin America. The awarded photograph was exhibited at Photoville in Brooklyn from September 20–24, 2018, as part of an international showcase of visual storytelling.

Capturing the Stata Center at MIT, the image explores the challenge of finding unique perspectives in widely photographed spaces. Sariñana, who frequently encounters this architectural landmark in his daily routine, sought to push beyond conventional representations, creating a composition that stands out in an era saturated with digital imagery.

The Latin American Fotografía awards, hosted by American Illustration and American Photography (AI-AP), serve as a global platform for Latin American creatives, recognizing exceptional work across editorial, advertising, and fine art. Sariñana’s inclusion in this prestigious exhibition highlights his ongoing exploration of the intersection between photography, perception, and architectural form.
