LACP Artist of the Month
Dr. Joshua Sariñana’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in his background as a neuroscientist, integrating his expertise in cognition and spatial navigation with fine art photography. Always carrying a camera, he captures the everyday environments he moves through, often focusing on architectural forms like the MIT Stata Center. While commonly photographed, he challenges himself to create unique images that transcend the ordinary. His work has been widely recognized and exhibited internationally, from the Griffin Museum of Photography to Photoville and the Houston Center for Photography. A recipient of multiple awards, including the Sony World Photography Awards and PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, Sariñana has also been published in renowned photography and science publications. His work continues to bridge photography and neuroscience, offering a visually compelling exploration of perception, memory, and space.
